AIRSYS Cooling Technologies Opens $40M Global Headquarters Campus in Woodruff, Bringing 215 Jobs to Spartanburg County

WOODRUFF, S.C. — AIRSYS Cooling Technologies has opened its new global headquarters campus in Woodruff, marking one of the most significant technology manufacturing expansions in Spartanburg County in recent years. The company’s $40 million investment includes a 264,000-square-foot facility at 6228 Highway 101 that will create 215 new jobs and house one of the world’s largest 3D printing factories.

The Woodruff campus will manufacture customizable spray liquid cooling components for high-density computing servers — technology in growing demand as data centers across the country race to keep up with artificial intelligence workloads. AIRSYS, which has been headquartered in Greer for three decades, developed and manufactures cooling equipment used in data centers, schools, and telecom cabinets worldwide.

“Today marks a major milestone for AIRSYS as we open our new global headquarters and manufacturing facility here in Woodruff,” said AIRSYS Cooling Technologies President Paul Quigley. “This investment represents the realization of a dream we have been working toward for many years: to establish AIRSYS’ headquarters in the United States. It reflects our long-term vision of strengthening our presence in America, expanding our innovation in data center cooling, and building a foundation that supports our customers, employees and communities for decades to come.”

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster praised the expansion as a sign of the state’s continued workforce strength. “AIRSYS’ announcement is further proof that South Carolina’s talented workforce continues to be a foundation for the success of our existing companies,” McMaster said. “The 215 new jobs this investment brings will have a strong impact in the Upstate.” The South Carolina Coordinating Council for Economic Development supported the project through job development credits and a $500,000 Set-Aside grant to Spartanburg County for site preparation and construction costs.

For commercial real estate professionals, the opening signals continued momentum in Spartanburg County’s industrial and advanced manufacturing sector. The 264,000-square-foot campus represents a substantial absorption of industrial space and adds to a pipeline of major projects taking shape in the county. Spartanburg County Council Vice Chairman David Britt called it “a major win” for economic development recruitment. “More importantly, it provides opportunities for our residents in the form of new jobs,” Britt said.

The AIRSYS opening is the latest in a string of high-profile Upstate announcements tied to the AI infrastructure buildout sweeping the nation. Earlier this year, Siemens announced a $165 million investment to expand facilities in Spartanburg County, adding 150 manufacturing jobs, while DartPoints is expanding its Greenville data center to 12.5 megawatts with a $125 million investment. The convergence of cooling technology, data infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing in the Upstate reflects a regional economy increasingly positioned at the center of the country’s AI supply chain.
